Humvee Tire
The humvee is an awesome military vehicle that has seen action all over the world both under the American flag and under the flag of American allies, leaving humvee tire marks all over the world. It has proven itself to be the backbone of the American military’s transport and support and has been in service for 20 years. But where would the humvee be without its humvee tires, still in the factory, that’s where. Here you will be able to learn more about the humvee tire and some problems. Humvee tire – All terrainAs the humvee itself is a fast, agile and flexible vehicle it needs tires that fit the vehicle and the humvee tires sure do. The humvee tires are made out of the best materials to have the most agile and flexible properties possible, making it possible to go anywhere. The radial humvee tires are made for all sorts of terrain and harsh environments making it possible for the humvee tire to perform perfectly both in the barren deserts of Iraq and the sub arctic colds of Sweden. There simply is no need for changing a humvee tire unless it is worn or broken, otherwise it will handle perfectly in any possible terrain. Humvee tire – Run-flat tire systemHooked up to the humvee tire is a run-flat system that both make it possible to continue to drive along although a humvee tire gets damaged and to adjust the tire pressure on the go. This feature is absolutely crucial for a military vehicle such as the humvee because if a humvee tire were to pop as a standard tire when it gets damaged it would be much easier to put a stop to it, and it would prove being a worthless military vehicle. The ability to adjust the tire pressure on the move is also a great feature for an all-terrain humvee tire since it makes it possible to adjust the humvee tire for a better grip on the ground. Humvee tire – Changing the tire
Humvee tire – The Goodyear strikeDuring the winter of 2006 the employees of the Goodyear tire factory in Topeka went into strike, thus halting the production of humvee tires. This was a very unfortunate event because with the ongoing war on terror raging in both Afghanistan and Iraq the demand of humvee tires was huge. Luckily the US military had extra humvee tires to use until the reason for the strike could be solved and production was restarted. It was although a wake up call for the military discovering just how fragile the maintenance line really was.
