Military Surplus Humvee

Surplus Military Humvee
Military Humvee

The military surplus humvee is a very cool and masculine looking car, there is no question about it, and there is little surprise that there are people that want one for themselves. This on the other hand might prove to be less easy than one first might think. Of course it is possible to get your hands upon an awesome military surplus humvee but the chances of buying one are few and far apart. Here you will be able to learn why it is like that, how to find one anyway and what one can do if there are no military surplus humvees to be found anywhere.

Military surplus humvee – Few numbers

One of the greatest problems with the military surplus humvees is simply that they come in such a few number, at least into the civilian population. This is because if a humvee can be fixed the military will repair them and send them back into duty rather than sell them, generally because the humvee is the backbone of the US military and because buying new ones might prove too expensive. Trying to find a banged up or completely totaled military surplus humvee for sale is simply futile. The only time that military surplus humvees does appear on sale is because new vehicles have caused a reorganization within the ranks and the oldest and worst vehicles just gets pushed outside. This does not mean that the military surplus humvees are in a bad shape, the military takes good care of their vehicles and equipment, it just means that they are not new.

Military surplus humvee – Surplus sales

To find a military surplus humvee one most simply finds a military surplus sale and hopes to get lucky. The military regularly holds sales like that to get rid of old and obsolete equipment while making some money at the same time and that is where on might find a military surplus humvee. But as mentioned before, the opportunities when they have a military surplus humvee are few and far apart. Also, there are some other problems. The military surplus humvee is a popular vehicle which not only means that it will be expensive to begin with, there will most probably be people there that will outbid you, so be sure to have enough money
. And that is if you even get a chance to bid, in many cases companies goes first and as they know that the military surplus humvee is popular they buy it and sell it themselves but much more expensive. So remember, finding a military surplus humvee does not automatically mean that you are going to be driving home in it, far from it.

Military surplus humvee – Go civilian

If it seems troublesome to get a hold on a military surplus humvee one might want to look in a different direction, to the civilian market. The H1 hummer is the civilian version of the military humvee and they are basically identical. Coming off the same production line the H1 hummer and military humvee are only separated just at the end as the H1 hummer gets a better and more comfortable interior and the military humvee gets weapon mountings and a bit more armor. There simply is no need to find an expensive military surplus humvee when one can get a used civilian H1 hummer for a much lower price, especially since they basically are exactly the same vehicle.
