Military Humvee Auction

Military Humvee Auction
Military Humvee bought at
military humvee auctions can make
great civilian vehicles.

The Hummer H1, Hummer H2 and Hummer H3 are easy to find and you can get hold of a retailer in practically any major city. The military Humvee is much trickier to come by, since it is only manufactured for the military, not the civilian, market. While many consumers settler for a Hummer H1, the Hummer model most resembling the military Humvee, there are also those who have their mind set on the military Humvee and is ready to search until they find one for sale. If you want to own a military Humvee, your best shot is probably to find a military Humvee action.

Finding a military Humvee Auction – why is it so hard?

Finding a military Humvee auction is difficult. The U.S. Army use vast amounts of military Humvees each year, but only a small fraction of them ever enter the civilian market via a military Humvee auction. The Humvee was designed to be a durable vehicle that could be easily repaired in the field, using a minimal amount of tools and spare parts. This durability and the swiftness of repair and maintenance work means that the U.S. Army usually finds it better to mend old Humvees over and over again than selling them to civilians. A really damaged Humvee that is truly beyond repair will often be salvaged for spare parts, or sold as scrap, rather than being delivered to a military Humvee auction. This means that military Humvee auctions are few and are far apart, and you have to be alert and always keep your eyes out for one if you wish to become the proud owner of a true military Humvee.

Finding a military Humvee Auction – how to go about?

When you’re looking for a military Humvee auction, the best place to start is usually the military surplus sales. Military surplus sales are used to sell of old and outdated stuff to civilians. Even if you do not find any Humvee at any of the military surplus sales, you may be able to find persons that can point you in the right direction. Let everyone know that you are interested in a military Humvee auction and ask them to contact you if they find any news about one. Some die-hard Humvee fans even offer finder-fees for tips that lead to successful purchases.

Finding a military Humvee Auction – money money money!

A problem with the military Humvee auction is that companies tend to come first in line when a Humvee is finally auctioned out. In many cases, the purchasing company will fix the Humvee up and sell it at a later date, for a considerably higher price. If money is not an issue, you can of course contact one of these companies and buy a military Humvee from them. Some companies sell their Humvees directly for an asked price, while others hold their own Humvee military auction.

As mentioned above, many companies wish to purchase military Humvees, even badly damaged ones, because they know that they will get even more for them after having fixed them up. This means that the prices tend to climb really high during a military Humvee auction, even for really damaged Humvees in need of serious repair work.
